DPC 2019: dentist.camera – An International Dental Photography Event Worth Attending

I learn by going where I have to go.

Theodore Roethke

I just recently came back from a trip to Seville, Spain where I had the pleasure of attending the first International dental Photography Conference of its kind; DPC 2019: dentist.camera, Organized mainly by Dr Alessandro Devigus from Switzerland, along with a host of the best dental photography experts and speakers in the world of dentistry today, and it was an event worth attending by all measures.

A Group Photo of Attendees at the first dentist.camera event in Seville, Spain – June 2019.

Speakers such as Prof Louis Hardan, Panos Bazos, Sascha Hein, Carlos Ayala, Javier Tapia and Kris Chmielewski (of DentalPhotoMaster.com fame), along with Dr Devigus himself shared much valuable information related to both the practical as well as the next-generation research and trends which benefit from and utilize the power of high quality Dental Photography. Topics including Bio-Emulation Photography, Mobile Dental Photography, Smile and Occlusion Design as well as best practices and digital workflows in dental photography were presented. The event also included several workshops on practical topics and useful practices and frankly I found them to be of immense value to my own understanding and practice of Dental Photography, and have certainly initiated certain shifts I intend to implement soon in my own practice, in order to raise the quality and improve the workflow I currently have.

The second planned event will be in Budapest, Hungary in 2020, and already looks geared up to be an even better one. I recommend you check it out and find out more on the official website of dentist.camera.
